Happy New Week guys,
I came across a poem during the weekend and felt I should share it with you.
Richard Cory
Whenever Richard went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored and imperially slim.
And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked,
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.
And he was rich--yes, richer than a king--
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fact, we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.
So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat and cursed the bread;
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet through his head.

Never compare your life with others, you never can tell what they might be going through. People are making it, doesn't mean you won't; just stay true, happy and committed to yourself and goals. Admire people but never wish to be like them because you don't know where their shoes hurt.
What are your thoughts about Richard Cory? Will love to hear from you.
Have a great week ahead.

Wow... That's touching. Never compare yourself to another, even the President of the United States is undergoing trial. Stay true to your path!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right Anne. Thanks for stopping by. Not all that glitters is gold.
DeleteTo remain sane in this life, it's best to run on your own lane. Comparison puts unnecessary pressure.
ReplyDeleteI love that descriptive word "sane". You absolutely right and unnecessary pressure isent needed. Thanks dear
DeleteBeautiful poem.......
ReplyDeleteAnd yh comparison is not a habit you want to get yourself into.....it keeps you living in cycles, with all doors leading to emptiness.
Nice piece Cathy
