While growing up there were quite a number of things I hated about myself, sadly this things were natural and I really couldn’t do anything to change it. This made me feel inferior and made me always feel I was not good enough. I struggled with this for a long time.
But when I decided to embark on the journey of self discovery, which God helped me through, I realized how amazing, unique and endowed I was. I realized those things I hated about myself were the things that made me unique. I embraced my imperfections and fell deeply in love with myself. I was then able to share the love I found in myself with others.
Most times we look for love in other people not knowing that we ultimately have to fall in love with ourselves first. Only after this will you be able to find real love in others and also show real love to humanity.
As Lisa Nichols rightly said “you cannot love from your cup but rather from your saucer”. When the love for you becomes full, it flows to others around you.
In conclusion
If you haven’t fallen in love with yourself, you need to embark on a journey of self discovery. You need to embrace your imperfections. I bet you, you will be amazed at how unique you are.
Lisa Nichols says “love starts with self love”.
