What is this ado about time management? I have practically heard about it all my life. What still amazes me is that, it is still the most mismanaged.
One of the most popular tips for proper time management has been creating a daily to-do list but this isn't still working. So what's the way out?
After a proper research I discovered that, one thing that affects us is the knowledge that there is lot of time at our disposal. On this note I will share just three basic tips to plan your time.
1. Carving out a clear picture of what you want out of life.
This will go a long way to determine how you value time. If you want to live a normal life, then you don't need anything extra ordinary about proper time management and If you want to live an extra ordinary life then you need to take time management seriously.
2. Time analysis
Time is a scarce commodity so it's wisdom to properly utilize it. Jim Rohn said "you either run the day, or the day runs you". You have to be intentional about time management because time is life.
Here is a vivid example of what I mean by time analysis;
Mr A is entitled to 24hours.
He sleeps for 6hours. (24 - 6) = 18hrs
He does a 9 - 5 job I. E 8hrs (18 - 8) = 10hrs
Bathing, cooking, transportation etc takes about 5hrs (10 - 5) = 5hrs
This shows that Mr A has only 5hrs for his personal activities so you see there is really no time as you think. You might not have up-to 5hrs like Mr A or yours might be more.
Time analysis will help you avoid distractions.
3. To-do list
After the analysis, you will realize you don't have much time to spend. It will also help you to avoid over stocking your list and set your priorities aright.
